Google Predicts Revenue Growth in China

Google Inc. forecasts strong company revenue growth in China despite the country's stringent online censorship laws, Reuters reported.

"I don't know where (Chinese) revenue growth will be, but it will obviously be large," Eric Schmidt, Google's chief executive officer, told Reuters.

In recent months Google has been criticized by U.S. legislators and Chinese dissidents for agreeing to block links to topics the Chinese government deemed controversial.

Google's Schmidt says that the company has a responsibility to abide by the laws of countries it does business with and sees China as a huge market.

Currently, Google is developing partnerships for advertising and other businesses but is awaiting licenses and regulatory approval.
