Federated Media Inc. announced the launch of its self-service platform for advertisers and publishers looking to reach weblog audiences.
The new online ad toolkit offers categorized and demographically relevant search and instant purchasing.
"A lot of advertisers want to join in the conversation with bloggers but they are apprehensive of joining that conversation. They can't tell which blog to join and don't have the time or knowledge how to manage scores of relationships with these publishers," John Battelle, chairman and publisher, Federated Media, told iMedia. "Our platform makes it simple for advertisers to participate in these conversations-- to join the authors and audience in a meaningful way."
Included among Federated Media's growing network of nearly 50 high quality authors and publishers are Boing Boing, Digg.com and Fark.com. Publishers have a full business day to accept the advertiser's proposal or decline the offer.
"I do believe that we are the first doing this. There are a lot of other companies that are doing parts of the process but we are the only one that focuses on high quality blogs. We put the pieces -- high quality blogs, demographics, search engine interaction -- into an author-drive approach that we feel is truly unique," Battelle added.
