AdSense to conquer feeds

Selling ads in feeds has been more promise than reality, despite the fact that users are increasingly turning to the tool to manage their content consumption. But now, Google has said that it will try to insert advertisers into the mix by flipping the switch in AdSense's feeds tool.

Google Operating System, a blog not affiliated with the search giant, first broke the story when it reported that contextual and placement-targeted ads were available on feeds.

But despite Google's decision to enter the feeds marketplace, it's not clear if advertisers will see results because there's little evidence that users are likely to click on ads in such a small space. TechCrunch speculated that feeds may only be a branding opportunity and little more.
