Burger King has landed a major advertising coup, signing on as an early sponsor of Google's AdSense content syndication program and inking a deal with "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane to create ads for the fast food giant.
The deal, which was first reported in The New York Times, will be part of an overall agreement between Google and MacFarlane to distribute "Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy" through the search giant's AdSense network.
The animated series, which is set to launch next month, will feature cartoons from MacFarlane designed to be viewed in the AdSense boxes of predetermined websites thought to be frequented by the "Family Guy" audience. Google had planned to monetize the series through the use of pre-roll, but Burger King stepped up and hired MacFarlane to create animated ads for the chain to be played ahead of the content.
