Dentyne campaign asks users to ditch web
There's more to life than what you see on the web. That's the message gum maker Dentyne is hoping to get across to its customers through a new campaign.
The campaign, which is called "Make face time," asks users to go to a website that shuts down after three minutes.
"We've got nothing against the internet, but when people are surfing the web, they're missing the best part of life -- being together."
The website then asks users to go out and "make face time" with a friend.
Dentyne, which tapped McCann Erickson for the campaign, is promoting its Dentyne Ice and Dentyne Fire lines. According to The New York Times, Dentyne Ice sales fell 9 percent between 2005 and 2007, while sales for Dentyne Fire dropped 26 percent over the same period.
