Google clone puts kibosh on nepotism
For those who worry that Google search results unnecessarily favor Google-owned properties, a new startup may have just the solution.
Dubbed "Google Minus Google," the search engine offers the Google interface and search results minus sites like YouTube, Blogger and Knol, the search giant's Wikipedia killer.
News of the startup first broke on Google Blogoscoped, which quoted creator Timo Paloheimo as saying that he first began working on the tool after The New York Times reported that Google was becoming a media company.
"The tool is by no means perfect, more of a proof-of concept than a final product," Paloheimo said.
