Google puts search suggestions on main page

While you're typing your next Google query, you may notice that the search giant has a few words of advice for you. Those words, suggestions really, are part of a long-running Google Labs experiment that will soon make its debut on the site's homepage.

In a nutshell, the new search tool, dubbed Google Suggest, will offer completed queries to users as they begin typing their keywords. The idea behind the program, which Google began testing four years ago, is to cut down on user errors and help people refine their searches before submitting.

According to the Google blog, the company will begin rolling out the product throughout the week. The suggestions come from aggregated queries.
