Yahoo shocks rivals with surprising search gain
Google is still the undisputed leader when it comes to search, but Yahoo has made a big gain with advertisers, according to Covario's Q2 2008 Global Search Spend Analysis series.
The report, which tracks what advertisers are spending in search, found that Yahoo managed to capture leading technology advertisers from Google. Yahoo saw a 14 percent gain in technology advertisers from Q1 to Q2. According to Covario, it's been two years since Yahoo saw such an increase.
Covario compiled its numbers by looking at 128 brands across 12 leading technology companies, including Adobe, Intel, Lenovo and RIM.
