Rick's Bio

Rick Corteville joined Luxus Inc as their CEO in January of this year.  Rick has been creating digital strategies and campaigns since the 1997 and has deep experience across vertical industries.  His role at Luxus Inc is focused on extending the brand to the masses, bringing in new business and strengthening relationships with existing clients through what Rick calls, “Accountable Creative” (work that actually delivers an ROI and doesn’t just look pretty).

Rick had spent the previous 4 years with IPG Mediabrands where he worked both in Europe and North America.  From 2008-2010, Rick was been based in London serving as the Head of Digital for the EMEA region within UM.  While in this role, he managed a Digital Communications team dedicated to guiding the digital strategy for UM’s 13 regional clients that included such brands as Coca-Cola, Microsoft/Xbox, Brown Forman (Jack Daniels) and MasterCard.  Under his guidance, his team also provided support and thought leadership to the Mediabrands digital teams across 30+ local markets.

Rick then moved back to the US in 2010 to help run the search agency, Reprise Media.  As the EVP, Global Accounts, he wore multiple hats from running the San Francisco office, leading business development efforts and managing a team of 70+ people across Account Services and Media within Reprise’s 4 US offices (New York, San Francisco, Atlanta and Los Angeles).  Rick’s work helped turn Reprise Media from a loss leader within the Mediabrands portfolio to a healthy, profitable organization.

After a number of years in radio, Rick’s digital career started in 1997.  He was attracted to the emerging Internet industry and moved to Beyond Interactive (later Grey Global Group); while at Grey, Rick led the Oracle Corporation account where he implemented one of the first 336x280 box ads on the web.

Rick then moved to Singapore in 2002 to launch the online media department of Grey Asia Pacific. While there, he managed all of Oracle Corporation's interactive marketing efforts in China, Korea, India, and Australia.

After a year and a half, Rick returned to San Francisco to help lead such accounts as Adobe, Veritas, Gateway, and Nokia Business. He left Grey in August of 2004 and moved to ZenithOptimedia. It was there that Rick managed all the interactive marketing across all of Hewlett-Packard's product divisions. Under his guidance, the HP account increased its media buying and planning billings by over 300% in 2 years.

In 2000, Rick was listed as one of BtoB Magazine's Best and Brightest Media Strategists.
