Alex LeMay is CEO, founder, and Executive Producer of The Shadow Gang, a Los Angeles-based entertainment studio that develops ground-breaking transmedia properties with partners in publishing, film, television and gaming. LeMay and his team most recently developed GoBZRK, a highly successful transmedia project created for the launch of the book series, “BZRK” by best-selling author Michael Grant.
LeMay is an award-winning feature film, broadcast producer, director and digital innovator. Over his 18-year career he has directed a number of acclaimed feature films as well as provided commercial and interactive media for some of the world’s leading companies including Starbuck’s Coffee Company, Johnson and Johnson, Harper Collins Publishing, Office Max and 20th Television. He has produced and directed for Sony and Universal Studios and helmed one of the Mexico units for the Academy Award-nominated film, “Seabiscuit.”
Since 1993, LeMay has owned and operated Taproot Productions, a Chicago-based motion picture production company. In 2008, Alex co-founded DIGITAAL, an interactive agency that created, developed and patented Blink Link™, an interactive media player. DIGITAAL merged with Manifest Digital in 2009, where Alex served as Director of Motion Services and Content Development. He created and developed a variety of original online productions for clients such as Harper Collins and 20th Television..
LeMay has spoken at a number of conferences including the New York Games Conference, The Publishing App Expo, Digital Media Summit 2012, tapping his expertise in building transmedia properties and digital content.
