Heidi McIntyre's knowledge of produce/food marketing is extensive and gives her an edge in determining the best marketing strategies and tactics for this complex, diverse and ever-changing industry. Heidi has 20+ years of experience in marketing and she started her own consulting firm in 2000.
Along with John Shuman, a sweet onion marketer from Georgia, Heidi also started Produce for Kids (PFK) in 2002. Produce for Kids provides year-round retail promotional campaigns for the produce department that have raised $4 million dollars for non-profit organizations benefiting kids. A total of 16 retail banners and over 40 sponsors participate in the campaigns each year.
In addition to Produce for Kids, Heidi has worked with a wide range of produce clients over the years including: the Vidalia Onion Committee, Southeast Produce Council, Florida Tomato Committee, Duda Farm Fresh Foods, National Mango Board, Chiquita and the Perishables Group.
Heidi's successful marketing campaigns earned her recognition including the following awards: "Marketing Excellence" award from Produce Business magazine (four times) and the "National Excellence" award from the Produce for Better Health Foundation.
