Kimberly Black brings 17 years of media experience to her position as vice president of marketing strategy & research insight at CNET Networks. In her role, she manages the organization’s corporate research programs and develops thought leadership initiatives to bring to the industry. Black uses insight gleaned from internal and external resources to help CNET Networks be a different kind of media company. Through her strategic research programs, she plays an integral part in the storytelling CNET Networks does to explain the evolving roles of media and marketing, and the company’s vision for the future.
Since joining CNET Networks in May 2001, Black has held several roles involving corporate marketing strategy, research and sales development. She played an active role in communicating the value of new online ad formats that CNET Networks launched in 2001 to take the industry “beyond the banner ad.” She was also instrumental in CNET Networks’ groundbreaking research conducted with Starch Communications into online creative best practices, which is covered in the recently published Online Advertising Playbook by the ARF.
Prior to CNET Networks, Black spent 11 years with Ziff Davis technology magazines. She is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and she is based in CNET Networks’ New York office.
