Gulshan Verma is a mobile and online industry expert with 15 years of rich experience in building successful profitable business channels. As the Chief Revenue Officer of India’s largest digital product company - Times Internet Limited, Gulshan is responsible for driving the entire revenue channel for the group.
He heads revenues for over 35 digital businesses across web and mobile, with businesses across categories such as news, entertainment, sports, ecommerce, classifieds, and more. He plays a pivotal role at Times Internet in accelerating India’s digital transformation with its brands and platforms across languages and age groups. He also leads business development and strategic partnerships for the group.
Previously, Gulshan was the General Manager, SEA and India at Outbrain where he launched the industry first content distribution platform in the market. He was also the Chief Revenue Officer at Komli Media; where he expanded the firm to more than 10 countries, helped raise VC funding of nearly ~$100MM and bought both Facebook and Twitter sales to markets across APAC including India, South East Asia and Australia/ New Zealand. He was also the Director of Sales Strategy for Yahoo! India and Director of Product Marketing for Yahoo! Search Marketing in the United States. Prior to that, he was a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Co. working across the Media & Entertainment, Technology and Healthcare sectors. He has also worked in Europe, North America and Asia and for leading companies like Ernst & Young and IMG.
His key specialties include P&L, Advertising, Strategy, Technology Sales, Digital Media, Marketing, Media, Product Marketing, Go-To- Market, M&A valuation, due diligence and post-merger integration. Gulshan is also an executive committee member on the boards of DMAi (Direct Marketing Association of India), IAMAI (Internet & Mobile Association of India) and the Content Marketing Council.
Gulshan holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a Masters in Political Economy and a BSc. Economics from the London School of Economics, and holds two patents in search monetization.
