Sugato Banerji is the head of marketing of Videocon d2h, one of the largest DTH operators in the world with a turnover of over Rs 3,000 crores and 19 million customers.  Sugato has a wealth of experience in service marketing having worked with large service brands in the course of his 28 year long career. He started his career in sales in Xerox and then spent 8 years in leading advertising agencies, JWT and Lintas where he worked on brands from Tata Steel, ITC and HUL. Thereafter, he shifted to marketing and rose to become the head of marketing in Standard Chartered Bank having successfully launched several innovative credit cards and the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon which became a benchmark in event sponsorship in India. He was in the core team that launched Airtel Digital TV, which went on to become the brand leader in DTH within 18 months of launch. His focus has been service marketing and is credited with bringing in innovation in each of his roles.  He is a graduate of IIT BHU and IIM Bangalore.
