Brad Smith is the Vice President of eCommerce and Digital Marketing for Fingerhut Direct Marketing. In his current role, Brad has full revenue responsibility for the company´s Web site marketing and operations. This includes the customer site experience, and all feature/functionality design. In addition, he is responsible for all online customer marketing and acquisition, including paid search, email marketing, affiliate marketing and other online media activity. Since joining the company two years ago, the company´s Web store has grown by nearly 300% and in 2007, had sales in excess of $154 million.

Prior to joining Fingerhut, Brad spent five years at General Mills, where he was the Director of Interactive Marketing and ran the company´s centralized interactive advertising and Web site production group. Under his leadership, General Mills established a direct-to-consumer database of more than 9 million households and saw BettyCrocker.com become a Top 10 food site. Called "Household Marketing," the database strategy had one of the highest marketing returns of any marketing program in the company. Brand spending on interactive media also increased significantly.

Before his time at General Mills, Brad spent nearly a decade in the traditional and interactive agency world, designing and executing marketing strategies for a client roster that includes Zale Corporation, Ralston Purina, Microsoft, MasterCard and American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise). He began his career at Jackson Hewitt, where he worked in the company´s marketing department as an advertising specialist.



He has been a frequent guest speaker at industry events and graduate schools that include the Tuck School of Business (Dartmouth) and the Carlson School of Management (University of Minnesota). Brad has a B.S. from Virginia Tech.
