Prior to starting the Ross Macc, I was one of two lead engineers for Samsung on their US design team. I then chose to pursue my MBA and transition into a senior analyst role, managing $350 million in marketing funds for Samsung. I also acted as a consultant to the CEO and CFO of TopGolf, Inc. This experience made me realize the importance of building accounting acumen. Initially, I chose Michigan for its reputation and connections; after getting to know the MAcc program's leadership, I chose Michigan for the people. The people in the program genuinely cared, were honest, respectful, timely and helpful in their responses when I needed help. I felt at home and comfortable; my decision has been reinforced ten-fold during my time here.
The key to successful recruiting (and enjoying the process) is time management. Most evenings fall semester are consumed by networking events with the firms; if you diligently schedule your time, a balance of networking, homework, and fun with friends can be attained
