Kathryn Szumowski is senior media director for Turner Media Group. In this role, she oversees digital media planning and ideation for all Turner networks including News, Entertainment, Young Adult and Sports.  Szumowski is based in Atlanta and is part of the Turner Media Group.

 

Szumowski joined Turner in 2010 and previously held a number of different sales, marketing, and media roles during an 18-year career with Verizon where she was instrumental in the launch of online advertising in 2000. Most recently, she managed the digital and multicultural media for Verizon Wireless, overseeing digital, SEM, mobile, social and video campaigns for product launches and programs. She also led the strategic development of the company’s multicultural media campaigns and initiatives.

 

While at Turner, Szumowski has been at the forefront of driving innovation within the digital and social space.  Her passion for all things digital has led to the development of a digital education & literacy course that continues to evolve in scope.

 

Szumowski earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association (AiMA), Atlanta Marketing Association (AMA) and Advertising Women of New York (AWNY).  Whenever possible, Szumowski enjoys time with her family playing or watching sports and volunteering within her community.
