Joe McWilliams has been in the interactive media business since the early beginnings of the industry. As the first sales leader for Hoover’s Online in 1996, he was responsible for establishing the advertising business, and over the next 8 years, he led it to be a top tier business site for advertisers by creating innovative ad programs and building a strong, consultative sales team of future leaders.
In 2004, McWilliams, joined former Hoover’s co-founder at HighBeam Research, where he established and grew the brand, search and contextual advertising business along side a successful subscription service.
In 2008, McWilliams joined the content syndication service, Mochila, where he helped transform the company’s advertising business model from a low CPM network to a premium, online custom publishing and distribution platform for brand advertisers.
In February 2010, McWilliams joined MediaMath, inventors of the Demand Side Platform that operates the largest and most successful media trading practice. MediaMath’s mission is to harness the promise of vast reach with great efficiency on behalf of marketers. MediaMath’s client portfolio consists of every major media holding company with thousands of campaigns running on behalf of Fortune 500 advertisers.
