Mark joined Underscore Marketing in 2013 as a VP Director of Communications Planning. Previously, he served as Brand Planning Director for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) at PHD, where he worked with clients and agency partners to ensure the effective integration of GSK messaging, media and content strategies. While at PHD, he served as Agency Lead for generating the Activation Platform for Breathe Right and assisted in the development of the NRT communications architecture. He also provided strategic counsel on the development of Advair for COPD, Advair for asthma and a number of GSK’s HIV medications. He has worked extensively with GLBT media vendors throughout his career.
Prior to GSK, Mark held the position of Senior Vice President, Group Strategy Director at MPG, where he was responsible for incorporating integrated marketing communications principles into all traditional, digital and diversity media plans. In this role, Mark worked alongside clients and agency partners to develop communications strategies for luxury care company Volvo as well as YSL, Boehringer Ingelheim, Comedy Central, Esurance, Hershey, Oppenheimer Funds, Outback Steakhouse, Puig Fragrances, Virgin Mobile Other career highlights include serving as Vice President, Strategic Planning Director at Initiative Media, where he provided strategic direction for AOL, Applebee’s, Blistex, Purina and Victoria’s Secret.
Mark graduated summa cum laude from Baruch College with a BBA in Marketing.
