Sommer is a senior lecturer (assistant professor) and researcher in marketing and consumer psychology. She spends her time focusing on sustainable consumption, consumer financial well-being, and marketing and advertising effectiveness. Sommer has discovered the top goal in her career is to translate academic findings into best practices for business, into public dialog and policy thinking, and to help build consumer knowledge. Tall order, but then the best goals usually are.
